Fred Astaire Madison visits LaFollette High School
On June 5th, the Fred Astaire Madison team made a visit to Madison's LaFollette High School to teach rhthym and smooth dances, in addition to hip-hop and breakdancing, to students taking a ballroom dancing class this semester. These students are very quick learners and the Fred Astaire instructors had a blast teaching some of their moves. Students interested in dancing are invited to attend Fred Astaire Madison's 2008 Summer Dance Camp. More details are available at the 2008 Summer Dance Camp page.
Ms. Swoboda Goes To Vegas!
From April 16-18th, Peter, Linda
and Ms. Marian Swoboda represented the studio at the Cross Country
Dance Championships in Las Vegas, NV. They spent their time in the
desert seeing shows, wining and dining, and of course dancing! Ms.
Swoboda performed a number of elegent and sophisticated routines with
Peter and earned multiple first place awards. Congratulations to Ms.
Swoboda! Check out more pictures of their trip on Fred Astaire Madison's Flickr Photo Gallery!
Danish National Championships

In early March, Peter and Lindnieces Amalie and Josephine and nephew Casper competed in the Danish National Championships. Josephine, age 9, Casper, age 11, and Amalie, age 13 won their respective divisions with their partners. Their entire family and the Fred Astaire family are both very proud of their accomplishments. Below are some pictures from the event, and a link to view video clips of Josephine, Amalie and Casper in competition. It's clear that dancing runs in the family!
